Following medicare changes on 1 August 2020, NOT all tests can be bulk billed or medicare rebated. If you meet medicare criteria, you are eligible for bulk billing (if a pensioner) or a substantial medicare rebate (non pensioner, health care card holder).
If the test is not eligible for a rebate through medicare, payment will be required for the tests as outlined below in the fee schedule. This is generally the case for patients without symptoms (except diabetics), for screening and for workplace clearance or commercial license renewal. Tests not eligible for medicare can NOT legally be bulk billed or rebated to the patient. We apologise, but these changes are initiated by government, apply to all cardiologists and are outside our control.
Follow up visits immediately after tests are only rebatable through medicare if management decisions or changes are made at the time of that consultation. Visits that are simply to relay results or allay concerns UNFORTUNATELY are no longer rebatable through medicare.
Please see charges for each specific practice location in the sub menu below
I charge a GAP ($500 for non-pensioners and $250 for pensioners) for most inpatient hospital procedures that are covered by your health fund. This means most work performed in hospital will be covered by your health fund with a small out of pocket expense (provided your policy includes cover for cardiac care).
This gap may be waived if you are experiencing financial hardship.
The very best private hospital care.
Certain procedures may not be covered by your health fund for the following reasons:
Your procedure can arranged by a company called self pay. Please visit there website by following this link.
