Patients with a pension card
All consultations and tests (except ABP monitoring) bulk billed.
Patients without a pension card
There is a consult fee. This is associated with a significant refund from medicare. Most tests are bulk billed.
Payment is required on the day. Cash and EFTPOS services are available.
DVA gold card patients
Bulk billed for all consults and tests.
Please let staff know if you are experiencing financial difficulties.
Due to the significant costs associated with private consulting rooms, it is impossible to bulk bill non-pension patients routinely. The consult fee for non pensioners (although small), allows the office to maintain the best possible service for patients, with regards to staff and equipment.
The consult fee is paid during the first visit and the last visit (when all test results are relayed to the patient). Visits in between for test attendance etc carry no out of pocket fee.
Please contact Ligia at the office to clarify all costs prior to the visit if you have any concerns.
Fee's for patients without a pension card payable on the day. Cash, EFTPOS and credit card (Mastercard, Visa) are accepted. AMEX is not accepted.
Please contact Amelia or Julie in the office for consultation and ECG fees. REDUCED fees applies for aged pensioners and disability support pensioners. There are no reduced fees for Health care card holders.
Please contact Southern Heart Centre 9553 7388 for information about the cost of cardiac tests.
Please note - I do not perform cardiac tests apart from ECG's in Kogarah rooms. Tests are referred to an external cardiac lab but reported by me. Their fees are not under my direct control. I do have discretion to request bulk billing for cardiac tests if you are experiencing financial difficulties so please advise if this is the case.
